PEACHSTATE WRESTLING ALLIANCE - 2016-05-21 - Carrollton, GA

Picture
Peachstate Wrestling Alliance Report from Carrollton on May 21

--  Fry Daddy defeated Sal Rinauro by pinfall. Immediately a "You got beat" chant filled the arena, but Sal didn't react to the crowd at all, instead soaking in the loss as a real devastating turn of events. He slowly grabbed the microphone and said this was demoralizing as he was the backbone of this company and hadn't had his shoulders pinned at PWA in over a year, but had dropped 3 straight and that's tough for the backbone of the company. Upon hearing that, The Backbone (Michael Stevens, Zac Edwards, and Drew Adler) were out to say Sal had one job and that was to beat Kevin Blue so he'd be softened up for Adler and he didn't do it. And on top of that he just lost to Fry Daddy, but the deal breaker was referring to himself as the "backbone". All 3 proceeded to lay out Rinauro with a quick and vicious triple team and not a soul was out to save him. The Backbone then got Rinauro's bags and tossed them out of the heel locker room.

--  Simon Sermon defeated "The French Sensation" Romeo by pinfall.

--  The Backbone vs. Shane Noles (w/The Wicked Nemesis) & #TrendingNow (Ace Haven & Charles Zanders w/Amy Haven) ended in a disqualification when The Aries Brothers interfered just as Noles had hit a split legged dropkick on Stevens & Edwards. 5 on 3 didn't last long as Kevin Blue came out and tried to help Noles and #TrendingNow, but was quickly subdued. Sal Rinauro was out as a ball of fire and proceeded to get shots in on all 5 men. Bill Behrens was out and said he understood June 18th would be the 2nd annual Survivor Games (2 rings, 1 cage match that mixes War Games and Survivor Series rules) He said The Backbone had their 5, but the other team seemed a member short. Rinauro grabbed a mic and said he was a low down person who had done a ton of despicable things and admittedly said he didn't deserve to be the partner of Blue, Noles, Zanders, and Haven, but he was more than willing to do so. Noles called the troops together for a quick conference and then said he'd let the crowd decide. A loud "Yes" chant filled the arena as Noles took it in and then approached Rinauro by saying "we're not looking for a friend, we're not looking to go out afterwards and have some dinner and split a pitcher of beer, but you're extremely talented, you saved our ass, and we accept!" Noles then addressed The Backbone and said it was a disgrace to call themselves that because the backbone of this company is the very fans who fill these seats and proceeded to call out over 50 fans by name and pointing to them before saying "I could go on and on. But without the fans, we're nothing. What makes us different from you is we know that already. See you on the 18th."

--  Kevin Blue defeated Kyle Matthews to retain the PWA No Limits Title in a very good back and forth match. Matthews thought he had it won as he hit the Slurpee kick and several other impressive moves, but could not garner the 1-2-3 on Blue. Blue finally hit his finisher for the pinfall victory and the fans applauded he efforts of both men. Matthews approached him for the handshake of good sportsmanship, but then kicked Blue right in the groin. As he walked away, Matthews had his head in his hands and his eyes wide like he couldn't believe what he'd just done.

--  Tommy Too Much defeated Sal Rinauro in the finals of the "Quest to be the Best" tournament to capture the PWA Heritage Title. The finals were supposed to be Too Much and Jimmy Rave, but Rave was out with food poisoning, a 103 degree temperature, and constant regurgitating. Before Behrens could begrudgingly award the title to Too Much by forfeit, Rinauro was out and said he and Rave were friends who didn't always see eye to eye, but together they were the reason the tournament was even a necessity. He volunteered to take the place of his friend. Too Much said "why should I wrestle you? You already lost tonight." To which Rinauro replied "Then I guess you don't have much to worry about." The match was on and the stipulations were that to win the match, one man must gain a decision by pinfall and another decision by submission. There would be no time limit, no count out, and no disqualifications. Behrens had also made it clear at the last event on May 7th that there was to be no interference from anyone in either locker room, and if they set foot out the door then they would be terminated at PWA, regardless if they had worked there 6 months or 6 years. Too Much got a pinfall decision 11 minutes in. At the 18 minute mark, Rinauro gained a a victory by submission. These created an interesting dynamic as both men were each going for different moves with a different mindset. At the 20 minute mark, Too Much's associate Merica Strog came down to ringside with a foreign object. Behrens met her at the end of the aisle and said she wasn't there at the last event, so perhaps she didn't know the stipulations. She put up a fight and Behrens said "forget it, you're fired" and promptly told security to "get her hell out of here". Senior Referee Terry Hudgins caught an elbow to the eye and Too Much and Rinauro banged heads. Referee Triston Michaels was out to take Hudgins place. Behrens asked him to check on Too Much and he would check on Rinauro. Behrens helped Rinauro to his feet and Sal assured him he could continue. At that point, Behrens reached into his pocket for some brass knuckles and blasted Rinauro.

Too Much came over and applied a camel clutch and Michaels was on top of it as he raised Rinauro's hand once, raised it twice, but Rinauro did not let his hand fall a 3rd time as defiantly held it up! Michaels slammed his arm down and called for the bell, proving that he was in on a fix with Behrens. Merica came back out for a group hug with the new champion Tommy Too Much, Behrens, and Michaels. Sal got his feet and grabbed Behrens by the tie and he looked ready to crap a gold brick. Just as Sal was about to deliver the knockout blow, Too Much speared him out of his boots. This had some nuclear heat and many in the crow began to throw chairs, canned soft drinks, nachos, and popcorn. The new group left quickly, but laughing the whole way out as they were off to celebrate.

--  Attendance was 229. PWA's 8-year anniversary event titled Stranglehold will take place Saturday, June 18th at Central Elementary School in Carrollton, Ga.
